Job summary

A leading high-performance motorcycle manufacturer seeks a Senior Design Engineer to join their Powertrain project. This hybrid role involves developing CAD models for components and collaborating with teams for internal combustion engines and hybrid systems. Ideal candidates will have a Mechanical Engineering degree and CAD experience in the motorcycle or automotive sectors.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of CAD design experience in automotive or motorcycle industry.
• Strong understanding of powertrain systems.
• Experience with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).

Responsibilities

About the company

A well-established high-performance motorcycle manufacturer is currently looking for a Senior Design Engineer for their Powertrain project

45 hours per week

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• 3+ years of CAD design experience in the automotive or motorcycle industry
• Proficiency with PTC Creo
• Strong understanding of powertrain systems and mechanical design principles
• Experience with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment

Additional Information:

• Develop 3D CAD models and 2D technical drawings of powertrain components (e.g., engine cases, cylinder heads, crankshafts, transmission gears, covers, intakes and exhausts)
• Create assemblies and integrate them into complete motorcycle models, ensuring compatibility and packaging feasibility
• Support the design and development of internal combustion engines and hybrid/electric powertrains
• Perform tolerance stack-ups, material selection, and design for manufacturability (DFM)
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, testing, procurement, and vehicle integration
• Conduct design reviews and implement feedback from simulation, validation, and prototype testing
