Job summary

A leading motorcycle manufacturer is seeking a Senior Design Engineer for their Powertrain project. The successful candidate will be involved in creating CAD models and technical drawings, supporting design development for both traditional and hybrid/electric engines, and collaborating on complex projects within a fast-paced environment. Candidates should possess a Mechanical Engineering degree and relevant industry experience.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of CAD design experience in the automotive or motorcycle industry.
• Strong understanding of powertrain systems.
• Experience with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).

Responsibilities

• Develop 3D CAD models and 2D technical drawings of powertrain components.
• Support the design and development of internal combustion and hybrid/electric powertrains.
• Conduct design reviews to implement feedback from testing.

About the company

A well-established high-performance motorcycle manufacturer is currently looking for a Senior Design Engineer for their Powertrain project

Hours per week: 45

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• 3+ years of CAD design experience in the automotive or motorcycle industry
• Proficiency with PTC Creo
• Strong understanding of powertrain systems and mechanical design principles
• Experience with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment

Additional Information:

• Develop 3D CAD models and 2D technical drawings of powertrain components (e.g., engine cases, cylinder heads, crankshafts, transmission gears, covers, intakes and exhausts)
• Create assemblies and integrate them into complete motorcycle models, ensuring compatibility and packaging feasibility
• Support the design and development of internal combustion engines and hybrid/electric powertrains
• Perform tolerance stack-ups, material selection, and design for manufacturability (DFM)
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, testing, procurement, and vehicle integration
• Conduct design reviews and implement feedback from simulation, validation, and prototype testing
