Job summary

Spencer Group in the United Kingdom seeks a Senior Design Engineer to lead civil/structural design, produce conceptual designs, and work with the design & build team in a fast-paced environment where quality matters.

Responsibilities include client liaison, site visits, design reviews, and coordinating sub-consultants. The role requires knowledge of CDM 2015 and 3D modelling, with Chartered status being pursued.

Qualifications

• Degree with 4+ years postgrad experience
• Pursuing Chartered status with ICE or IStructE
• Experience in 3D modelling and Design & Build projects
• Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines

Responsibilities

• Receive client brief and formulate scope with Principal Engineer
• Develop design philosophy and fee for design delivery
• Provide best-value design solutions to technical problems
• Carry out calculations using software and hand methods
• Produce detailed design drawings suitable for construction
• Attend site visits and design/review meetings; act as Client contact
• Coordinate sub-consultants needed to complete the design
• Understand current standards and CDM 2015 requirements
