Job summary

AWE in Aldermaston is seeking a Senior Design Engineer - CAD/PLM for a 12-month contract on a hybrid basis. You will develop and manage design information using CAD and PLM systems, ensuring compliance with engineering standards in a highly regulated environment.

The role focuses on transitioning to a new PLM environment, supporting utilities, infrastructure, and facility design, and coordinating CAD activities with multiple stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Design Engineer / Senior Design Engineer in a complex engineering environment.
• Strong experience using CAD systems.
• Experience with PLM (ideally Teamcenter) and controlled engineering information.
• Experience coordinating or leading CAD activities within an engineering team environment.
• Understanding of engineering standards, legislation and design requirements.
• Experience working on engineering facilities, infrastructure, utilities, equipment or associated systems.
• Ability to interpret engineering requirements and develop appropriate design solutions.
• Strong attention to detail and an understanding of configuration-controlled engineering environments.
• Ability to work effectively with engineering, technical and wider stakeholder groups.

On behalf of AWE, we are looking for a Senior Design Engineer - CAD / PLM (Inside IR35) for a 12 month contract based hybrid in Aldermaston.About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Senior Design Engineer with a background in engineering design and CAD and/or PLM systems to join a specialist engineering environment on an initial 12-month contract.Working within the Facility Design Authority, you will support the management and delivery of engineering design information, with a particular focus on CAD, PLM and configuration-controlled engineering processes.The role will support the transition to a new PLM environment and contribute to the safe and compliant delivery of engineering design solutions within a highly regulated environment.As a Senior Design Engineer - CAD / PLM, your main responsibilities will be to:* Develop and manage design information using CAD and PLM systems.* Ensure designs comply with relevant legislation, engineering standards, specifications and organisational requirements.* Support the design and development of utilities, infrastructure, equipment, engineering processes and facilities.* Contribute to engineering design activities across the facility lifecycle.* Review and assess engineering designs to ensure they meet required technical and compliance standards.* Work with relevant engineering and technical stakeholders to develop appropriate design solutions.* Maintain accurate and controlled engineering design documentation and information.* Support the implementation and optimisation of PLM workflows and engineering change processes.PLEASE NOTE: SC Clearance is an essential requirement for this role, as a minimum you must be willing & eligible to undergo checks.
