Job summary

NG Bailey are seeking a Senior Design Engineer with cabling system expertise to join our hybrid team in London, Stowmarket or Glasgow. The role covers design, drawing and calculations, with site surveys and a flexible office/home/site mix.

You will lead demanding cabling projects, mentor junior engineers, and liaise with clients to ensure cost-effective, timely delivery using CYMCAP and AutoCAD tools.

Qualifications

• Degree qualification is desirable, but fundamentals from HNC/HND essential.
• Autonomous and able to work with minimal direction.
• Lead and deliver technically demanding cabling projects.

Responsibilities

• Produce drawings and calculations; conduct site surveys.

Summary Freedom's Professional Services are looking for a Senior Design Engineer with a cabling system

London, Stowmarket or Glasgow (Hybrid)

Summary Freedom's Professional Services are looking for a Senior Design Engineer with a cabling system and or cable routing specialism to join our team based out of our offices in either London or Stowmarket.

This role will work on the design, drawing and calculations of our projects, working with the wider Design team, with site visits to carry out surveys and data collection, as required, Hybrid working arrangement between office(s), home and site

Some of the key deliverables in this role will include:

• Manage and lead with delivering technically demanding projects.
• Lead all types of cabling projects (including undertaking calculations and producing drawings) from concept design to detailed design unaided, ensuring that the project is cost effective and delivered on time with the deadlines in the proposal.
• Have good commercial awareness with the ability to work closely with our clients to build a strong relationship.
• Detailed knowledge and understanding of cable system design including very good knowledge of software packages including CYMCAP.
• Detailed knowledge and understanding of cable routing design including very good knowledge of software packages including AutoCAD.
• Understand and mitigate complex engineering problems such as SED’s.
• Mentor and provide help / guidance to Design, Assistant and Graduate Engineer’s.
• Attend and chair design team meetings with the team/client via teams or in person.
• Provide engineering solutions to site-based problems through TQ/RFI process.
• Have the ability to review/authorise cable design reports and drawings to a high standard, providing constructive technical feedback to all engineering levels.
• Ability to confidently conduct, supervise and demonstrate site visits to carry out cable route assessments, design commissioning, and investigations after failures.
