Collins Aerospace in Kilkeel is seeking a Senior Design Engineer to lead New Product Introduction activities with a focus on Design for Manufacture and Design for Assembly. You will drive production-ready designs, mentor engineers, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure quality and cost targets are met.

The role requires autonomous problem solving, strong leadership, and a commitment to continuous improvement within our Interiors team.

Qualifications

• Hold a third-level qualification in a relevant engineering discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Design or Engineering related role.
• OR Minimum of 2 years' experience in a comparable professional role.

Responsibilities

• Design and review models, drawings, and assemblies to ensure clarity and conformity to standards.
• Perform calculations and dimensioning for accuracy and cost considerations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to coordinate interrelated designs and timely project completion.
• Conduct major cost studies and weight analyses to meet requirements while optimizing efficiency.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to less experienced engineers.
