Senior Design Engineer – Structural Steelwork | West Yorkshire | 50,000 - 60,000 | Full Time, Permanent

We are working with a well-established structural steel fabricator with over 50 years of experience. They are looking for a senior design engineer to join their expanding team, involved from concept to final installation on projects across commercial, educational and residential sectors.

As a Senior Design Engineer, you will:

  • Produce both manual and software design calculations.
  • Raise necessary queries and coordinate information with clients, engineers, architects, and subcontractors.
  • Work within design budgets and QA procedures.
  • Liaise with other departments within the business as necessary to meet project demands.
  • Assist in training graduate design engineers.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with clients to achieve excellent feedback.

What we are looking for:

  • Minimum 10 years' experience of structural steelwork design, including knowledge of relevant British and European design standards/codes.
  • Degree educated, ideally working towards incorporated or chartered status.
  • Experience in structural steelwork frame design, member design and steelwork connection design.
  • Conversant in using Tekla Structural Designer, Tekla Portal Designer, and Masterseries.
  • Experience in designing temporary works would be advantageous.
