Job Title: Senior Design Engineer

Location: Leicestershire

Salary: £75,000 (Depending on experience)

We are seeking a Senior Design Engineer to join a dynamic company in the special purpose machinery sector. This key role offers excellent career growth potential and involves managing design and engineering activities while collaborating with senior management.

Responsibilities:

1. Lead design of machinery to meet specifications
2. Produce detailed assembly and component drawings
3. Drive innovation through R&D participation
4. Conduct design calculations
5. Collaborate with external controls/software engineers
6. Support the sales team with technical expertise
7. Engage with customers locally and internationally
8. Ensure designs meet budget and delivery requirements
9. Liaise with production and suppliers to ensure quality and compliance

Qualifications:

1. Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
2. Proven experience in designing special purpose machinery from scratch
3. Proficiency in 3D CAD (SolidWorks preferred)
4. Strong commercial and problem-solving skills
5. Ability to work independently with high attention to detail
6. Familiarity with MRP systems and Microsoft Project (preferred)
7. International driving license and passport required
