Job summary

Hireful in Basildon is seeking a Senior Design Engineer with electro-mechanical expertise to lead product development in a manufacturing setting. You will drive NPD projects, model with 2D/3D CAD (SolidWorks) and collaborate across engineering teams.

The role requires a degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or Product Design, and hands-on knowledge of plastics injection moulding, hydraulics, pneumatics, and fluid dynamics. This is a hybrid Basildon-based position.

Qualifications

• Degree-level qualification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or Product Design.
• Experience in electro-mechanical product design within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong CAD skills with 2D/3D (SolidWorks).
• Understanding of plastics injection moulding and fluid dynamics, hydraulics, pneumatics.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of electro-mechanical products for manufacturing.

Seeking a Senior Design Engineer with an electro-mechanical skillset, it would be even more amazing if you have electronics exposure too e.g. PCB development, IoT implementation, embedded software/C++

This hybrid role is based in Basildon, Essex with 2 days per week working from home. Salaryup to £60,000 depending on your skills and experience plus annual performance related bonus.

It's important that you have a substantial background developing and designing electro-mechanical productswithin a manufacturing environment; there is a big focus on NPD.

You should have a working knowledge of plastics injection moulding processes, plus understanding of fluid dynamics, hydraulics, pneumatics, motors, pumps, etc.

Strong technical design skills are important here, working to an advanced level with both 2D CAD and 3D modelling via Solidworks

You will ideally degree-level qualified in a relevant subject e.g. Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, plus excellent project management skills.
