Overview

The Senior Dental Nurse role at Chelsea and Westminster involves working as part of the Paediatric multi-disciplinary team to deliver a high standard of dental care to our patients, many of whom have complex needs. The Senior Dental Nurse will assist the Band 6 senior dental nurse and be accountable to the Paediatric Dental Coordinator. The Senior Dental Nurse will provide advice and support to all staff and will work closely with the multi-disciplinary teams in caring for children and their families to ensure a high quality standard of care and treatment. This role provides senior dental nursing support primarily to the Orthodontic department but is also involved in Paediatric Dentistry.

The post is 37.5 hours worked over 4 days with a need to be flexible.

Responsibilities
  • Assist and lead in Orthodontic Clinics, General Anaesthetic treatments and New patient clinics; experience in these areas is desirable but not essential.
  • Provide senior dental nursing support and guidance to staff within the Paediatric and Orthodontic teams.
  • Work with children and special needs children and contribute to a high standard of care and treatment.
Qualifications and Experience
  • GDC registration as a Dental Care Professional (DCP) is an essential requirement for this post.
  • Desirable: interest and experience working solely with children and/or special needs children.
