Job summary

Berkley Specialty London (a Berkley Company) is seeking a Senior Delegated Underwriting Authority Analyst to oversee our delegated authority portfolio, perform coverholder due diligence, audit management, and ongoing monitoring in support of regulatory and internal standards.

The role involves coordinating audits, pre-bind reviews, bordereau management, and reporting metrics to stakeholders, while mentoring junior staff and deputising for senior colleagues as needed.

Responsibilities

• Oversee due diligence into coverholders and third parties for regulatory and internal compliance.
• Accurate pre-bind reviews of delegated authority contracts.
• Manage the coverholder audit cycle: planning, scheduling, scoping, auditor liaison and remediation.
• Peer review bordereau management accounts, mappings and validations with offshore teams.
• Liaise with Delegated Reporting Manager to ensure timely bordereaux receipt and specification.
• Report performance metrics to internal stakeholders and participate in the Delegated Underwriting Group.
• Support systems and controls to deliver outcomes and advise underwriters.
• Develop junior team members and deputise for senior staff when requested.
• Facilitate the underwriter EPI review process.

• Effective and timely due diligence into coverholders and third parties (including new, renewal, and Lloyd's coverholder tribunalisations) to ensure compliance with both regulatory and internal requirements.
• Accurate and timely pre-bind reviews of delegated authority contracts.
• Proactive management of our coverholder audit cycle; including planning, scheduling, scoping, auditor liaison, and the remediation of recommendations.
• Accurate peer review of bordereau management system accounts, mappings and validations created by the offshore team, liaising with SMEs as needed.
• Liaising with the Delegated Reporting Manager to ensure that bordereaux are received in a timely manner and to specification.
• Accurate reporting of performance metrics to internal stakeholders, including participating in the Delegated Underwriting Group.
• Supporting wider efforts to ensure that systems, controls and record keeping are in place to deliver the above outcomes.
• Using subject matter knowledge and experience to advise underwriters and troubleshoot issues.
• Supporting the development of more junior members of the team, and deputising for more senior members of the team where requested.

Facilitation of the underwriter EPI review process
