The opportunity:
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Delegated Claims Authority Analyst to join the Markel team in our London office. The Governance & Delegated team at Markel International are responsible for the 1st controls of our International Delegated Authority in respect of underwriting across all divisions and delegated claims covering our Wholesale, State National Global, Global Re and Global Specialty Divisions.
What you’ll be doing:
Undertake pre-approval and due diligence reviews on our Delegated Claims providers and cover holders with claims handling authority ensuring contract documentation is accurate and complies with internal standards and regulatory requirements.
Ensure any post-bind activities are undertaken efficiently and effectively.
Align and work closely with other members of the Due Diligence team to ensure that delegated authority due diligence covering delegated underwriting and claims is unified.
Support the Delegated Authority Manager and maintain delegated claims authority relationships from a due diligence perspective.
Contribute to the delivery of excellent customer service to both our internal and external customers.
Ensure that regular Partnership calls are scheduled with our Delegated Claims providers and outcomes reported to quarterly committees.
Provide data for reporting on the DCA population at regular intervals under the direction of the Delegated Authority Manager.
Ensure our delegated claims due diligence practices adhere to internal claims manuals and processes.
Ensure that Markel International complies with all applicable regulatory requirements.
Work with the central operational audit team to ensure that Cover holders with claims handling are audited effectively.
Day-to-day management of claims loss funds, working closely with Claims Operations and the wider claims team.
Keep abreast of regulatory developments and ensure they are implemented effectively.
Provide insight and support to the cover holder audit team to ensure full cycle reviews of delegated authority business is effective.
Act as the Delegated Authority claims representative at the Delegated Oversight Groups.
Our must haves:
Previous experience of working in a Delegated Claims Authority role is essential.
Good understanding of Lloyd’s and delegated claims authority requirements.
Good understanding of Lloyd’s systems such as DCOM and Secure Share is essential.
Good and effective communicator.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Willingness to take responsibility and accountability.
Ability to deliver work on time to set deadlines.
Good understanding of Microsoft Office, Word and Excel.
Effective stakeholder management skills.
