Luxoft's client, a buy-side focused provider of investment technology regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority in the United Kingdom, provides investment managers and financial institutions advanced front office tools and a holistic set of back-office services. This client is looking to strengthen their technical support towers enabling the business to focus on their growth ambitions. Luxoft is engaged to crystallize the existing support structure into an SLA governed service, providing best-in-class foundations for the client to build upon and advance their market opportunities. Operating from London, Hong Kong and Connecticut, the client is rapidly growing with institutional backing and a proven track record in delivering a suite of financial services to a market-leading standard.

Responsibilities
  • Database administration, maintenance and optimization
  • Support users across three geographies (USA, UK and Hong Kong)
  • Ensure robust functioning of databases within SLAs
  • Work on continuous improvement initiatives alongside the rest of the team
  • Maintain production stability and resolve incidents quickly, manage problems resulting from incidents effectively and create solutions to improve availability, uptime and other key metrics
  • Willingness to learn/support new DB platforms
  • Participation in rotational on-call schedule
  • Create and maintain documentation
  • Follow the change control processes and procedures
SKILLS
Must have
  • B.S/M.S. in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or other related courses and/or equivalent training and experience
  • 10+ years' experience supporting infrastructure underpinning complex information technology systems
  • Understanding of core technologies in use: Microsoft SQL Server -> Windows Server
  • Linux
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience working with large databases in an Always On environment and other high-availability technologies
  • Database design & architecture
  • AWS RDS for Postgres
Nice to have
  • SAP ASE (Sybase) administration/support experience
  • Perl and PowerShell scripting
  • RedGate (SQL Monitor)
  • Experience in Global Markets, Banking and Financial Services domain, preferably working on the buy-side
  • Ability to work effectively within a globally distributed team with stakeholders and development team members spread across multiple locations
  • Flexibility to work overtime/adjust shift to cover gaps (emergency leaves) if required
