A community care provider in Holywood is seeking a compassionate Senior Day Support Worker to assist in supporting adults with learning disabilities. The role involves providing high-quality support and care, including personal care and managing challenges. Essential qualifications include QCF Level 3 in Health and Social Care. The position offers a permanent contract with a starting salary of £13.17 per hour for 35 hours a week.
Camphill Community Glencraig is currently recruiting for the position of Senior Day Support Worker. Due to the development of our services, we seek a compassionate team member to support adults with learning disabilities within our Day Services. The role involves assisting the Team Leader in providing high-quality support and care to individuals with complex needs and challenging behaviors. It may include personal care, redirection, and physical intervention as a last resort. Note: This role does not currently meet the UK Home Office criteria for the Tier 2 Health and Social Care Visa.
Salary: Starting at £13.17 per hour on a 5-point scale, increasing with service length.
Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 3:30 pm.
Contract: Permanent.
Closing Date: 4 pm, Monday 4th August 2025.
Essential Criteria:
- QCF Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent.
- Basic numeracy and literacy skills (Maths and English GCSE grade C or above).
- Registered or willing to register with the N. Ireland Social Care Council.
- At least 1 year of experience in caring or educational support.
- Experience providing personal care to individuals with complex needs.
- Experience dealing with challenging behavior.
Desirable Criteria:
- Qualification in Health & Social Care, Social Sciences.
- Experience in education or health and social care settings.
- Experience in a Day Care/Day Opportunities setting.
- Knowledge of medical conditions such as epilepsy.
