Senior Shift Engineer - Client Direct - (Days & Nights) - Corporate Office - Aldgate - £55,600 + Bonus

Exciting opportunity to work in-house for a client direct company in London. Our client is seeking a Senior Shift Engineer based in a critical/commercial building in Aldgate. The ideal candidate will be electrically or mechanically biased (C&G / NVQ) with a proven track record in commercial building maintenance, preferably within critical sites such as banks, data centres, or blue-chip offices. The successful candidate will work with the onsite maintenance team, leading a team and performing mechanical, electrical, and fabric maintenance.

Duties

  1. Ensure that Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance are carried out on all client assets using the PPM system.
  2. Manage the shift team effectively.
  3. Carry out hands-on maintenance when required.
  4. Promptly address plant faults and defects to maintain operational efficiency.
  5. Perform routine quality checks on workforce activities, maintain records, and uphold good housekeeping.
  6. Ensure availability of suitable spares for maintenance tasks.
  7. Complete comprehensive maintenance records, including job sheets.
  8. Prepare and review Method Statements and Risk Assessments for all tasks to ensure safe working practices.

Hours of Work

Continental shift pattern: 07:00 to 19:00 & 19:00 to 07:00

Package

  • Basic Salary: £53,700 + £1,900 shift allowance

Minimum Requirements

  • Electrically or mechanically qualified (Level 3 / HNC / HND), with trade certificates (essential)
  • Ability to lead a team of engineers
  • Proven experience in commercial building maintenance
  • Understanding of critical plant systems: Chillers, HVAC, UPS, Cooling Towers, etc.
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Must be able to start at 07:00am on site

Highly Desirable (Not Essential)

  • Additional qualifications (Electrical, Air Conditioning, etc.)
  • Experience working in banks, data centres, or commercial offices
  • High Voltage experience or qualifications (current or expired)
