Job summary

Capital on Tap in London seeks a Database Performance Engineer to own performance and scale. You will join a small, agile team and focus on reducing latency, cost and improving reliability across our SQL Server estate on Azure.

Lead the design of HA/DR, build self-serve tooling, and automate where possible using PowerShell and Terraform. Expect a senior, hands-on IC role with ownership of critical data paths.

Qualifications

• Extensive production experience with SQL Server at scale.
• Proven ability to improve latency, cost and reliability.
• Experience with high availability and disaster recovery design.

Responsibilities

• Own query and index performance across the SQL Server estate.
• Drive horizontal scaling and multi-cluster architectures.
• Develop self-serve tooling to diagnose query performance.
• Automate configuration with scripts and IaC.
