Introduction:

Our client, a leading insurance company based in London, is seeking a talented Senior Data Warehouse Engineer to join their dynamic Data Management team. As a Senior Data Warehouse Engineer, you will play a vital role in supporting the development of data systems, including data warehouses, dashboards, and reports. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of an organisation at a formative period in its development, with ample scope for personal and professional growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Translate business needs into technical specifications.
  2. Create ETLs for onboarding new portfolios.
  3. Develop and maintain SQL Server and Oracle data warehouses.
  4. Design and maintain data models for the data warehouse.
  5. Assist with solution design and system test plan preparation.
  6. Build and deploy BI solutions and analytical tools.
  7. Collaborate with teams to integrate systems.
  8. Develop and execute database queries and conduct analyses.
  9. Develop and update technical documentation.
  10. Improve processes within the organisation and automate manual tasks.
  11. Conduct peer review of team members' code.
  12. Support and maintain existing IT services.

Job Requirements:

  1. Significant experience with SQL Server data warehouse tools.
  2. Experience with Oracle databases, including Oracle Cloud and Apex.
  3. Knowledge of the Microsoft Business Intelligence stack and data warehousing concepts.
  4. Understanding of Microsoft Azure and cloud-based IT services, particularly the Microsoft 365 ecosystem and Power Platform.
  5. Experience with person-to-person workflow technologies.
  6. Exposure to Microsoft Windows and web services (IIS and Tomcat), CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps), and generating XML files.
  7. Understanding of database design techniques, optimisation, ETL best practices, and dimensional modeling.
  8. BSc/BA in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
