Harnham – Data & Analytics Recruitment is partnering with a leading UK digital insurance business to hire two Senior Data Scientists into its APP pricing team in Leicester. The role is hybrid with 1 day per week in the office.

You will develop pricing models for car and van insurance, explore new data sources and apply ML techniques to influence commercial decisions. Strong Python/SQL and ML experience are essential; insurance domain experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Strong Python and SQL experience.
• Commercial Machine Learning experience and predictive modelling background.
• Experience handling large, messy datasets and solving business problems with data.
• Mentoring or supporting junior team members; exposure to model deployment is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Build predictive ML models using large, complex datasets.
• Develop pricing and customer selection models.
• Create footprint (geospatial) models using alternative data sources.
• Develop residual models to improve claims prediction accuracy.
• Explore novel datasets to improve pricing performance.
• Evolve V1 models to production-ready V2 solutions.
• Collaborate with Pricing, Data Science and Engineering teams.
• Mentor a Graduate Data Scientist and lead projects from concept to delivery.
