About the role

We seek an experienced Data Scientist to work with a global biopharma client on Biostats model consulting and development. The ideal candidate will have expertise in R package development, model deployment on Databricks, version control collaboration, and familiarity with data architecture and cloud infrastructure.

The role involves working closely with our team embedded within the client's organization, emphasizing professionalism and empathy. Key tasks include:

  • Developing professional-quality R packages
  • Consulting on Biostats model development and deployment best practices
  • Reviewing and optimizing code, integrating modeling code into packages
  • Designing and implementing end-to-end modeling and deployment processes on Databricks
  • Collaborating with other teams to integrate solutions
  • Innovating with modern tooling to enhance model development and deployment

Skills and Experience

The successful candidate will have:

  • A background in biostatistics or a similar field
  • Strong R programming and package development skills
  • Experience with statistical model deployment and MLOps (preferred)
  • Extensive experience with cloud infrastructure, especially Databricks and Azure
  • Shiny development skills (desirable)
  • Ability to understand business workflows and design optimized solutions
  • DevOps experience and familiarity with software release processes
  • Knowledge of agile delivery methods
