Senior Data Scientist - AI-Driven Product Analytics

Job summary

Goodnotes is building an AI-native product line. You’ll be embedded in one 0-1 product bet, working directly with the founder and a small, fast-moving team to define metrics, design experiments, and build self-serve analytics frameworks that quantify impact from day one.

You’ll turn ambiguous problems into clear questions, connect metric movements to revenue, and empower PMs to read results. The role is full-time onsite in London, with a one-year fixed-term contract.

Qualifications

• Significant experience of product analytics in a PLG SaaS, marketplace, or transactional environment.
• Deep experimentation experience.
• Strong instrumentation and data governance instincts.
• Experience working in AI-native product orgs.
• You write queries and build analyses yourself using SQL and at least one of Python/R.
• Track record of building scalable analytics frameworks.
• Excellent communication across diverse audiences.
• Comfort operating in ambiguity with autonomy.
• Familiarity with dbt, semantic/BI layer, and governed self-serve stacks (Hex, LightDash, Looker, or similar).

Responsibilities

• Define success metrics, size opportunities, and connect product metrics to revenue.
• Build the experimentation practice and standardize execution across squads.
• Own instrumentation and measurement quality with engineers on tracking plans.
• Turn behavior into insights by analyzing funnels, cohorts, activation, and retention.
• Enable teams to self-serve through frameworks and governance.
• Shape the agenda by surfacing questions before they're asked and ensuring reliability.
• Define what counts as good enough to drive action.
