Zimmer Biomet\'s Global IT Data Science Group is on a mission to develop and deploy enterprise-wide advanced analytics and data science solutions across key supporting functions—including Finance, IT, Manufacturing, and Commercial Excellence. These efforts are central to our transformation strategy, enabling smarter decision-making and operational efficiency.

As a Data Scientist, you will play a critical role in supporting a variety of machine learning models and business analytics processes. Your work will focus on increasing the predictability of market and sales performance, while also driving improvements across internal workflows and systems.

How You\'ll Create Impact
  • Develop and maintain machine learning models aligned with business cycle requirements
  • Deploy models into production environments and monitor performance over time
  • Integrate and validate new data sources to enhance model accuracy and reliability
  • Collaborate with Data Engineers to streamline data collection and preprocessing workflows
  • Adapt and tune models for different markets, segments, and business needs
  • Engage with business stakeholders to gather feedback and improve model relevance
  • Define, calculate, and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for deployed solutions
  • Support cross-functional teams in designing ML models for diverse applications (e.g., Competitive Intelligence)
  • Build and optimize dashboards and reports to deliver actionable insights to internal customers
  • Ensure continuous improvement of existing analytics solutions through stakeholder input and data enhancements

Your Background

Education

  • Educated to University Level. Bachelor\'s degree in a technical or quantitative field such as: Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics or Physics.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3+ years experience or equivalent as a data science practitioner
  • Proficiency with applying quantitative methods to structured & unstructured data for exploratory data analysis, pattern recognition, insights generation, metrics development, and scaling reports
  • Strong programming skills in data manipulation & processing including SQL and Python
  • Experience with distributed computing tools such as Spark or PySpark
  • Experience in building and deploying ML-models for Time series predictions (e.g., SARIMAX, XGBoost, Prophet)
  • Proficient in ML & data manipulation libraries: Scikit-learn, Pandas, NumPy, XGBoost
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience with Power BI for dashboard development
  • Proficiency using Azure and Snowflake infrastructure
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills with demonstrated experience in authoring & presenting analytical insights via papers & presentations
  • Experience in statistical modeling and machine learning, including Bayesian methods
