We have a new opportunity for a Senior Data Scientist to join our highly successful digital teams. You will work alongside an award-winning team of Analysts and Data Engineering experts, driving digital change across Stantec and our clients, with a focus on water sector projects. We are customer and user-focused, pushing new ways of working across digital, while integrating technology and data into all our services and solutions.

Your contributions to developing digital solutions will be vital to Stantec’s growth and success. As part of our global team, you will help develop innovative services and products for our clients.

You will derive insights from data to enable proactive asset management and informed investment planning, benefiting communities and the environment by using digital technology to address challenges in the Water industry.

This role is client-facing—you will collaborate with water industry clients to understand their needs, propose data analytics solutions, support proposal writing, and work with the team to deliver projects. You will also be involved in technical delivery and mentoring junior team members.

About you

You have experience developing automated tools for data understanding, along with optimization and predictive analytics solutions to enhance decision-making. You are an advanced Python user, skilled in data cleaning, storytelling through presentations and dashboards (Power BI), and building ML models where appropriate.

You understand how to integrate technical solutions into client processes to create real change. As a senior team member, you will support junior colleagues through mentoring, training, and quality assurance. You will also contribute to defining and raising technical standards and assist in scoping proposals to win work.

You are proficient in SQL for data extraction and analysis, apply good DevOps practices, and have experience deploying solutions in the cloud (especially Azure).

You can design solutions aligned with client needs and understand testing principles.
