The role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Scientist to join our team. Reporting into the Data Delivery Lead, you will be responsible for analysing and interpreting data from a variety of sources to support our clients' decision-making processes.

Requirements
These are the key responsibilities for the Senior Data Scientist role. In addition to these activities and tasks, other responsibilities may be assigned, but the majority of your time will be spent on:
- Analysing and evaluating intelligence data to identify patterns, trends, and relationships that contribute to actionable intelligence.
- Utilising advanced analytical techniques and tools to assess the reliability, accuracy, and relevance of intelligence information.
- Developing and maintaining databases, data models, and analytical frameworks to facilitate efficient data analysis and retrieval.
- Collaborating with intelligence and security professionals across the company to understand requirements and priorities.
- Preparing and delivering reports, briefings, and presentations to communicate analytical findings effectively to stakeholders.
- Monitoring and assessing emerging threats, developments, and geopolitical events to support intelligence assessments and forecasting.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to advocate for high-quality data solutions.
- Mentoring junior team members.
You:
Essential Criteria:
- Proven experience working as a Data Scientist in a relevant field.
- Proficiency in data analysis, data mining, and statistical techniques.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to work with large datasets, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Proficiency in Python or R with 5+ years of experience.
- Familiarity with statistical models such as linear and logistic regression, t-tests, and ANOVA.
- Experience in collecting, organising, and analysing data from diverse sources.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical reasoning skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of conveying complex information clearly and concisely.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.
- Ability to attain a UK Security Clearance (residing in the UK for 5+ years).
Highly desirable:
- Experience in writing reports or academic articles, presenting at conferences, and visual data storytelling.
- Familiarity with AWS, SQL, and Tableau.
- A background in intelligence or quantitative social sciences.
- Proficiency in experimental design principles.
- Experience handling big data, with awareness of analytical biases and pitfalls.
- Skills in documenting and sharing methodologies with data professionals.
- Familiarity with version control tools like GitHub.
- Experience building machine learning pipelines and understanding basic engineering principles.
- Knowledge of machine learning techniques such as Random Forest and LGBM.
