The Role:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Scientist to join Solirius. You will work within a team to develop and deliver innovative projects alongside technology experts. Your responsibilities include designing, developing, and maintaining data pipelines and systems that facilitate data analysis and machine learning. Collaboration with data engineers, analysts, and stakeholders is essential to ensure data quality and reliability.

Requirements:

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead end-to-end data science projects, from ideation and data exploration to model deployment.
• Build and optimize machine learning models for prediction, classification, recommendation, or segmentation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate complex problems into analytical solutions.
• Drive experimentation through A/B testing, causal inference, and statistical methodologies.
• Present insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
• Mentor junior data scientists and contribute to the growth of the data science team.
• Stay updated with emerging data science tools, technologies, and best practices.
• Define processes for operational excellence and ensure data quality across projects.
• Manage SLAs for data sets and processes in production.
• Lead the design, build, and launch of new data models and pipelines.

Key Skills/Experience:

• Experience in data science or machine learning roles, preferably in fast-paced tech or enterprise environments.
• Proficiency in Python or R, SQL, and frameworks like scikit-learn, TensorFlow, XGBoost, PyTorch.
• Strong foundation in statistics, probability, and hypothesis testing.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and big data tools (Spark, Hive, Databricks).
• Excellent communication skills to explain complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Proven track record of impactful data science solutions.
• Experience working with data engineering teams and independently.
• Leadership experience, including team management.
• Knowledge of SQL and relational databases (e.g., MS SQL, PostgreSQL).
• Framework experience with Flask, Tornado, Django, Docker.
• Experience with ETL pipelines (e.g., Luigi, Airflow, Argo).
• Experience in data acquisition, data quality improvement, and preparing data for modeling.
• Hands-on coding experience in Python.
• Reporting tools knowledge (Tableau, PowerBI, Qlik).
• Understanding of GDPR and Government Service Standards (desirable).
• Experience working in Agile environments.
• Data architecture experience.
