Job summary

Pulse Group is seeking a Lead Data Scientist to join a new Data Science capability in London. You will shape how ML drives customer engagement, subscriptions, retention and revenue, processing hundreds of thousands of events per second and petabytes of data.

You will work closely with Product, Engineering, Editorial and Commercial teams to translate customer behaviour into actionable insights and measurable business outcomes, taking ownership of modelling and experimentation in a Greenfield

Qualifications

• 5+ years in Data Science or Machine Learning.
• Strong Python and SQL.
• Experience deploying production ML models.
• Strong grounding in statistics, probability and machine learning theory.
• Experience working with large-scale customer datasets.
• Background in subscription, consumer, media, gaming, e-commerce, fintech or similar environments.
• Experience with recommendation systems, propensity modelling, retention, personalisation or monetisation challenges would be particularly valuable.

Responsibilities

• Translate customer behaviour into actionable insight and measurable business outcomes in collaboration with Product, Engineering, Editorial and Commercial teams.
• Lead subscription propensity modelling, churn/retention analytics, segmentation and personalisation initiatives.
• Develop dynamic pricing and offer optimisation strategies.
• Apply uplift modelling and causal inference techniques.
• Design experiment frameworks and manage A/B testing.
• Monitor and optimise model performance across production systems.

We're partnering with one of the UK's largest digital consumer platforms to hire a Lead Data Scientist into a newly formed Data Science capability.

This is a genuine greenfield opportunity to help shape how machine learning influences customer engagement, subscriptions, retention and revenue growth across a business processing hundreds of thousands of events per second and managing petabytes of behavioral data.
