Job summary

Bristol Myers Squibb is seeking a Senior Manager, Data Science to lead cutting-edge analyses across multimodal datasets, including clinical trials, genomics, and imaging. You will drive exploratory and confirmatory analyses that inform global development decisions, partnering with statisticians, clinicians, and data engineers.

The role emphasizes scalable modelling, reproducible pipelines, and advanced analytics within the Drug Development DSAA team.

Qualifications

• PhD in a quantitative field with 1+ year of academic/industry experience; or a Master's with 3+ years of industry experience.
• Strong experience in data science and statistical analysis using clinical trial or electronic health records data in pharma R&D.
• Experience developing and validating statistical and machine learning models on high-dimensional data for time-to-event, longitudinal, and multivariate outcomes.
• Experience with Python, R, SQL, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Databricks).
• Familiarity with clinical trial design, drug development processes, and biomarkers in regulatory/clinical decisions.
• Strong problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills, with ability to manage several concurrent projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop and apply novel computational methods for patient segmentation, biomarker discovery, and hypothesis generation from multimodal datasets.
• Execute data science analyses on datasets from clinical trials and real-world data cohorts.
• Develop approaches to integrating, mining, and visualising diverse data across drug development stages.
• Formulate and validate predictive models and scalable analysis pipelines.
• Apply AI/ML, NLP, causal ML, and explainable AI across data modalities and contexts.
• Contribute to statistical analysis plans and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
