We’re looking for a Senior Data & Records Governance Lead at Barclays where you will be implementing and operating data governance framework for group control based on banks data and records standards. This is a critical role that sits at the intersection of risk, control, data integrity and regulatory compliance - with a mandate to ensure Barclays meets both internal standards and global regulatory expectations.
To be successful as a Senior Data & Records Governance Lead, you should have experience with:
Banking industry experience, ideally within large matrixed organisations.
Deep knowledge of data governance frameworks, data risk management and regulatory expectations such as BCBS 239.
Previous experience in implementing and operating data governance controls.
Previous experience implementing risk and control frameworks within the context of data and records management.
Demonstrated ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders across business, technology and risk functions.

Purpose of the role
To develop, implement, and maintain effective governance frameworks for all data and records across the bank's global operations.
Accountabilities
- Development and maintenance of a comprehensive data and records governance framework aligned with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Monitoring data quality and records metrics and compliance with standards across the organization.
- Identification and addressing of data and records management risks and gaps.
- Development and implementation of a records management programme that ensures the proper identification, classification, storage, retention, retrieval and disposal of records.
- Development and implementation of a data governance strategy that aligns with the bank's overall data management strategy and business objectives.
- Provision of Group wide guidance and training on Data and Records Management standard requirements.
