Job summary

Domestic & General Group is seeking a Senior Data Protection Manager to join our Risk & Compliance team in a hybrid Wimbledon-based role. You will lead the privacy programme and ensure compliance with UK GDPR, EU GDPR, DPA 2018 and PECR, delivering practical, risk-based guidance to business teams.

The role includes DPIAs, incidents, reporting, and regulatory interactions, with coaching of junior analysts and collaboration with external stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of global applicable data privacy laws, including UK GDPR, EU GDPR, DPA 2018, PECR/e-Privacy.
• Experience managing day-to-day privacy operations, DPIAs, incidents, DSRs, compliance monitoring and regulatory interactions.
• Ability to interpret complex requirements and translate them into practical, risk-based business advice and operational controls.
• Excellent communication, influencing, stakeholder management, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Recognised data privacy qualification preferred, such as CIPP/E, CIPM, CIPT, BCS Data Protection or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day delivery of privacy operations, ensuring core records, DPIAs, LIAs, DSRs, incidents and compliance monitoring activity are progressed to agreed standards and escalated where required.
• Own the quality and consistency of assigned privacy processes, templates, records, reporting inputs and operational controls.
• Provide senior risk-based advice to business teams on projects, suppliers, contracts, international transfers and privacy-by-design requirements.
• Lead operational privacy risk assessment activity, agreeing actions within delegated authority and escalating material risks or decision points to the GDPO.
• Prepare and present management information, KRIs and compliance insights to support senior stakeholder and GDPO oversight.
• Support the GDPO in regulatory enquiries and external engagements by coordinating inputs, preparing draft responses and managing follow-up actions.
• Provide technical leadership, coaching and quality assurance to Analysts and other colleagues supporting privacy activity.
