Job summary

Bank of America is seeking a Senior Engineer to shape the Post Trade Data Platform within a globally distributed engineering team. The role focuses on scaling ingestion, improving data accessibility, resilience and quality while delivering measurable business value.

You will lead architecture decisions, mentor engineers, and drive best practices across a scalable, distributed platform that underpins analytics and AI-driven use cases.

Qualifications

• Deep solid expertise in Scala, Java, or another JVM language.
• Experience with Oracle Exadata at scale, MongoDB, Elasticsearch.
• Cloud and DevOps knowledge: Linux/Unix, OpenShift/Kubernetes, Ansible.
• Experience building reactive, event-sourced systems.
• Hands-on experience with Apache Spark and Apache Flink.
• Strong understanding of Apache HTTP, Envoy, and REST API design.
• Experience with Protobuf, Avro, and Parquet data formats.
• Knowledge of Iceberg, Databricks, and Hadoop ecosystems.

Responsibilities

• Build innovative, scalable, and resilient solutions that advance the strategic data platform.
• Define and drive the architecture and strategy to support future needs of Operations and the business.
• Provide technical leadership through architecture, design, code reviews, and pull request reviews, championing high standards of code quality.
• Mentor engineers and drive continuous improvement in platform capabilities and DevOps practices.
