Job summary

Proactive Appointments Ltd. is seeking a Senior Data / Platform Engineer to join the Data & Analytics team on a remote basis.

This role requires hands-on experience building and managing data platforms with a focus on cloud infrastructure, automation, security and reliability. You’ll work across Databricks & Azure Synapse, Azure platform engineering (ADLS, Key Vault, networking, RBAC, private endpoints), IaC (Pulumi, Terraform, or Bicep) and CI/CD (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps) to deliver

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience building and managing cloud data platforms.
• Strong focus on automation, security and reliability.
• Broader data platform experience preferred over narrow ADF/Synapse analytics.

Responsibilities

• Build and manage scalable data platforms on Azure.
• Implement IaC using Pulumi, Terraform or Bicep.
• Manage security, RBAC and private endpoints.
• Shape CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions and/or Azure DevOps.

Senior Data / Platform Engineer – Remote

Our client is looking for an experienced Senior Data / Platform Engineer to join their Data & Analytics team.

This is not a traditional Azure Data Engineering role. They’re looking for someone with genuine, hands-on experience building and managing data platforms, with a strong focus on cloud infrastructure, automation, security and reliability.

You’ll be working across:

• Databricks & Azure Synapse
• Azure platform engineering – ADLS, Key Vault, networking, RBAC & private endpoints
• Infrastructure as Code – Pulumi, Terraform or Bicep
• CI/CD – GitHub Actions and/or Azure DevOps
• Databricks workspace administration, Unity Catalog & governance
• Monitoring & observability – Azure Monitor, Log Analytics & KQL
• Python / PySpark and scalable data pipelines
• Security, access management, automation and platform operations

We’re particularly interested in engineers with experience across the broader data platform, rather than those whose background is primarily focused on ADF or Synapse analytics.
