Job Purpose

We are investing heavily in Databricks and managing large datasets. This role offers the opportunity to be part of a transformation in data storage, analysis, and usage within a fast-paced organization.

You will serve as a Senior Platform Data Engineer, providing technical leadership to the Data Engineering team, working closely with Data Scientists and stakeholders to deliver value.

Job Accountabilities

• Develop scalable data pipelines for analysts and data scientists.
• Hands-on experience with Data Engineering technologies such as Databricks, Spark, Python, SQL Server, Scala.
• Collaborate with data scientists, ML engineers, and DevOps to develop and deploy models.
• Mentor team members and contractors to improve standards.
• Work with Business Analysts to meet requirements and realize benefits.
• Create documentation and data catalogs.
• Oversee project deliverables and code quality.

Key Skills Required

• Strong technical competence in relevant technologies and ability to learn new ones.
• Effective communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.

• Efficient SQL writing and debugging skills.
• Knowledge of data warehouse operations, schema evolution, indexing, partitioning.
• Experience with Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Understanding of ML workflows and hardware considerations.
• Experience with Spark, Flink, Hadoop, Beam.
• Familiarity with Databricks and Lakehouse architecture.
• Knowledge of data quality and lineage frameworks.
• Understanding of data security, privacy, GDPR.
• Experience with real-time data ingestion, Kafka, Spark Streaming, DLT, Beam.
• Knowledge of Data Science and Machine Learning models and tools.
• Experience with visualization tools like Tableau, PowerBI.
• Experience in airline, e-commerce, or retail industries preferred.
• Experience with AWS cloud ecosystem.
• Building data transformation frameworks with dbt.
