Job summary

Made Tech is seeking a Lead Data Engineer/Architect in the West of England to help public sector organizations enhance their data capabilities. You will define data strategies, assist teams in leveraging their data, and be a trusted advisor on cloud services like AWS, Azure, and GCP. The role involves contributing to recruitment and management responsibilities within a supportive team focused on data-driven solutions. Key qualifications include proficiency in data tools and strategies, along with agile methodology experience.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Git and various branch strategies.
• Experience with IaC deployment strategies.
• Knowledge of data transformation tools and types.
• Good grasp of data architecture including Data Warehouses and Data Lakes.
• Ability to design and implement scalable data pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Define and shape data strategies for government.
• Advise on the value and usage of data.
• Take on recruitment and line management responsibilities.

Skills

Proficiency in Git (inc. Github Actions)

Strong experience in IaC

Knowledge of handling and transforming data types

Good understanding of modern data architectures

Ability to create data pipelines

Experience with reusable libraries

Ability to present end-to-end diagrams

Enthusiasm for learning

Experience in agile projects

Ownership of cloud infrastructure

Designing data transformation processes

Knowledge of SOLID, DRY, and TDD principles

Commercial mindset

Resilience in project implementation

Guidance on DevOps in data projects

Familiarity with DataOps
