Job Title: Senior Data Modeler - Corporate Banking Data Office

Location: London

The Corporate & Investment Bank (CIB) combines Deutsche Bank’s Corporate Finance, Global Markets and Global Transaction Banking businesses. This new business division was created in 2017 with the aim to ensure greater alignment of product and sales efforts, enabling the bank to deliver a better service to clients and a more focused resource allocation.

As Data Modeler for CB Data Office, you’ll work on the design and development of enterprise logical data models and physical data models that will support the CB (Corporate Banking) business data strategy. We need to have consistent views of our business activity across both the CB Business as well as consumers of our data such as Risk, Finance and Treasury. You’ll ensure the CB Data Model design team creates models that are agreed upon by data producers and consumers and adhere to group CDO standards and industry standards. You’ll work on the creation and rollout of models in a dynamic heterogeneous environment that encompasses processing platforms as well as the new CB Data Factory which is at the heart of our “Big Data” analytics capability.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Providing data modelling leadership to the business application development teams around cash payments and securities services, being cognizant of the future direction of systems.
  • Working closely with CB business domains and IT groups to ensure data models are aligned to current and future requirements & standards, including coordination and technical assistance to facilitate specific development projects.
  • Responsibility for completing, maintaining, and inventorying data modelling artefacts as required by bank data policies.
  • Learning how the models impact overall technology and data landscape in the bank and actively driving for efficient solutions in these spaces on model usage.

Your skills and experience:

  • Strong knowledge in either cash payment processing or securities transactions is a must. Experience in at least one of Corporate Banking domains (Cash Management, Trade Finance Lending or Securities services) is desirable.
  • Data modelling experience; specifically designing enterprise Logical data models and Physical data models (UML). Exposure to modelling tools – Enterprise Architect, Power Designer (Preferred).
  • Data architecture experience; specifically designing and implementing data pipelines and protocol formats (Json schema knowledge essential) in enterprise system architecture.
  • Well-developed business and requirements analysis skills, including good communication abilities (both speaking and listening) and stakeholder management (all levels up to managing director).
  • Data management and governance experience.
  • Strong Data analysis skills, SQL experience, Cloud (GCP).
