Job summary

Randstad Digital UK is seeking a senior Data Migration Specialist to lead an end-to-end migration project from discovery through reconciliation, based in Sheffield. You will tackle complex data models, metadata, and large relational structures, ensuring validated migrations to Azure cloud platforms and modern Lakehouse architectures.

The role requires 8-10+ years in enterprise data migration, strong SQL mastery, and hands-on experience with Azure DevOps, Git, and CI/CD deployment.

Qualifications

• 8-10+ years of dedicated experience delivering complex enterprise data migration and data engineering projects.
• Mastery of SQL (complex joins, performance tuning, advanced analytical queries, and reconciliation).
• Azure Data Lake / Lakehouse architectures.
• Proven experience across all migration phases: Strategy, Discovery, Cleansing, Mapping, Execution, and Post-migration Validation.
• Hands-on proficiency with Azure DevOps, Git, and modern CI/CD deployment practices.
• Deep understanding of data modeling, metadata management, and data lineage.
• Experience migrating legacy systems into Azure or Microsoft Fabric.
• Prior background in Financial Services working on Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) systems.
• Familiarity with data governance frameworks in regulated, high-compliance environments.
• Relevant Microsoft Azure or Microsoft Fabric certifications.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end data migration lifecycle—from discovery to reconciliation.
• Navigate complex data models and large-scale relational structures to ensure clean, validated migration to cloud environments.
• Lead technical aspects of migration using Azure DevOps, Git, and CI/CD practices.
• Collaborate with stakeholders on governance, risk, and compliance requirements in regulated environments.
