Job summary

FanDuel is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead teams of data engineers and consultants in building scalable data pipelines powering BI, analytics, fraud detection, and reporting. You will partner with Data Architects, Product Managers, Analytics, and Engineering to set strategy, govern platforms, and ensure reliable, cost-effective data services.

You will mentor and grow a high-performing team, balance hands-on engineering with people leadership, and drive data-driven decision making

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Platform, or related data roles.
• 3+ years leading engineering teams, including coaching and performance management.
• Deep expertise building scalable data platforms and production-grade data pipelines.
• Strong experience with Python, Scala, or similar languages.
• Experience with Databricks, Delta Lake, Snowflake, or BigQuery in cloud environments.
• Proven ability to drive complex cross-functional initiatives from concept to production.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, build, and continuous improvement of scalable data pipelines and data products.
• Manage up to 9 data engineers and 5 consultants—hiring, onboarding, performance reviews, and career development.
• Plan and prioritize work to deliver on-time and on-quality; balance discovery and run-the-business work.
• Own production health, SLAs, and incident response; mitigate risks and dependencies.
• Drive platform coherence through architecture decisions and governance.
