Job summary

Advancing Analytics is seeking a Senior Data Engineering Consultant to join our team remotely within the UK. You will work on cutting-edge analytical solutions, lead client engagements, and contribute to data platform development using Azure, Spark, and Python.

Two interview rounds with People Recruitment Manager and Hiring Lead assess both culture fit and technical competency. We offer competitive salary (£70,000–£90,000) with benefits and a strong emphasis on continuous learning and community

Qualifications

  • Requirements gathering and client consulting experience.
  • Understanding of OO development practices.
  • ETL approaches focusing on data quality, resilience and observability.
  • Understanding of CI/CD methodologies and SDLC.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end data engineering projects for clients.
  • Balance technical work with pragmatic project needs.
  • Sight end-to-end solutions while guiding a project.

Job description

£70,000 to £90,000 (depending on experience).

Location

Remote – must be based within the UK. Occasional visits to see customers and the team.

Interview process

Two rounds. 1: Get to know you chat with the People Recruitment Manager ; 2: Technical competency with the Hiring Lead and a Team Member.

For the Senior Consultant role we expect a good understanding of our core tech stack and the ability to see the end-to-end solution whilst leading a project.

Required Tools and Technologies
  • Microsoft Azure and cloud computing concepts
  • Apache Spark – Databricks or another Spark engine
  • Python – we build most of our solutions in Python
  • Azure Data Factory or other cloud orchestration tools
  • Azure Data Lake storage and Delta Lake
  • Unity Catalog, Purview or other Data Governance tools
  • IAC tool such as Terraform, Azure DevOps
Other technology we like, but isn’t essential
  • Azure Functions – Python, C#
Skills and Approaches
  • Requirements gathering and client consulting
  • Understanding of OO Development Practices
