Senior Data Engineering Consultant

We are open to full-time or part-time applicants for this role! Are you returning from maternity leave? We'd love to hear from you!

Salary: £67,185 to £77,664 (depending on experience)

Location: Remote – must be based within the UK. Occasional visits to see customers and the team.

Interview process: Two rounds: 1. Get to know you chat with the People Recruitment Manager; 2. Technical competency with the Hiring Lead and a Team Member.

Who are we looking for?

Dedicated individuals who combine technical passion with honesty and empathy for client consulting. Those who love data and believe in sharing knowledge internally and with the wider data community. Someone thriving in an agile environment, balancing technical skills with pragmatic project needs. For the Senior Consultant role, a good understanding of our core tech stack and the ability to see end-to-end solutions while leading projects are essential.

Required Tools and Technologies:
  • Microsoft Azure and cloud computing concepts
  • Apache Spark – Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, or other Spark engines
  • Python – our primary development language
  • SQL – writing complex, high-performance queries and understanding query execution
  • Azure Data Factory or other cloud orchestration tools
  • Azure Data Lake storage and Delta Lake
  • Unity Catalog, Purview, or other Data Governance tools
  • IAC tools such as Terraform, Azure DevOps
Preferred but not essential technologies:
  • Visualization tools – Power BI, Tableau
  • Streaming Data – Azure Stream Analytics, Event Hubs, IoT Hubs
  • Distributed compute engines
  • Azure Functions – Python, C#
Skills and Approaches:
  • Requirements gathering and client consulting
  • Agile project management
  • Object-Oriented Development Practices
  • ETL approaches focusing on Data Quality, Resilience, Observability
  • Understanding CI/CD methodologies and SDLC
