Job Description:

Your Role

As our Senior Data Engineer (Reasoning ML), you will be responsible for creating and curating datasets for training and evaluating our ML planner components. You will build data analysis tools and work across ML model development and evaluation to achieve desired AV driving behaviors. You will also participate in operational support, ensuring root causes of issues are identified and resolved, and drive improvements to product quality, customer experience, and maintainability.

You will:

  • Lead the development and deployment of data pipelines for machine learning models.
  • Design and implement metrics for model validation and monitoring in production.
  • Utilize the Oxa Metadriver platform to generate synthetic data and train robust driving policies.
  • Build cloud tooling and infrastructure to support experimentation, evaluation, and deployment workflows.
  • Collaborate with team members across the business to foster a supportive environment.
  • Contribute to hiring, onboarding, mentoring, and developing junior engineers.

Requirements

To succeed, you should have:

  • A degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience developing behavioral ML technologies for autonomous vehicles or robotics.
  • Experience with production ML pipelines: data creation, curation, training frameworks, evaluation pipelines.
  • Proficiency in Python and data analysis libraries.
  • Proven project leadership and teamwork skills.
  • Strong technical communication and leadership abilities.
  • An understanding of safety, security, and ethics in AI.
  • A PhD or MSc in relevant fields.
  • Relevant publications or conference talks.
  • Familiarity with open benchmark datasets (Waymo, nuScenes/nuPlan, Argoverse, Level 5, etc.).
  • Experience in developing and deploying autonomous systems.
  • Knowledge of Google Cloud Platform.
