Job summary

MCS Group is partnering with a fast-growing technology company to recruit a Senior Data Engineer in the UK. You will design and build production-grade data pipelines, APIs and data services using Python, SQL and AWS to support analytics, AI capabilities and customer-facing features.

Working remotely from the UK, you will collaborate with software engineers, data specialists and product teams, contribute to CI/CD and DevOps practices, and help evolve a scalable data platform.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in data engineering or backend software development.
• Strong Python development skills and SQL proficiency with data modelling.
• Hands-on experience deploying solutions in AWS.
• Experience with ETL/ELT tooling and data warehousing.

Responsibilities

• Build robust data pipelines and backend data services using Python and SQL.
• Design data APIs, semantic layers and curated datasets.
• Develop cloud-native data solutions within AWS.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product, Data, AI and QA.
• Contribute to CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code and DevOps practices.
• Maintain data quality, monitoring and performance.
