Valarian, a UK-based frontier AI company, seeks a data engineer to design data foundations powering ACRA applications and Valarie. You will transform heterogeneous sources into coherent entities and queryable data products across graph, relational and NoSQL databases.

Work with product teams to define ontologies, ingest from APIs and databases, implement entity resolution and provenance, and evolve models with DataOps for deployment.

Competenze

• Proficient Python engineering with tested data pipelines.
• Strong SQL with relational modelling, indexing and migrations.
• Experience with NoSQL and document modelling.
• Experience with graph DBs and RDF knowledge graphs; Cypher/SPARQL familiarity.
• Ontology design: clear entity definitions, stable identifiers, relationships and vocabularies.
• Experience integrating heterogeneous sources with provenance and lineage.
• Ability to translate domain requirements into documented models and queries.

• Define and evolve ontologies for organisational entities, relationships and rules.
• Build ingestion pipelines from APIs, databases, documents, files and events into canonical models.
• Implement entity resolution, deduplication and source reconciliation with provenance.
• Design and maintain graph, relational and NoSQL schemas based on query needs.
• Develop efficient queries and data interfaces for apps and AI tools with traceable results.
• Create automated tests for transformation correctness and data integrity.
• Preserve source permissions and retention through derived datasets and graph relations.
