Job summary

Harvey Nash is seeking a Senior Data Engineer in the UK to join a hybrid/remote setup on a 3‑month contract with potential extension. You will design, build and improve secure data processing services, maintain pipelines and data models, and ensure data quality and compliance across regulated environments.

The role requires strong SQL, Azure data stack experience (ADF, Synapse, Fabric, Databricks), Python/PySpark, and DBT expertise.

Qualifications

• Senior data engineer with strong SQL and data modelling experience.
• Experience with the Azure data stack including ADF, Synapse, Fabric and Databricks.
• Experience building ETL and ELT pipelines.
• Proficiency with Python and PySpark is preferred.
• Experience with dbt or similar data transformation tools.
• Experience with orchestration tools such as ADF, Airflow or Prefect.
• Familiar with CI/CD, Git and Azure DevOps.
• Comfortable in secure or regulated environments.
• Delivery-focused and able to work independently and hit the ground running.
• Experience supporting sensitive data, data protection, pseudonymisation and compliance work.
