Job summary

Anson McCade Pty is hiring a Senior Data Engineer for its Defence division, based in Stevenage or Bolton with hybrid working and an annual salary around £55,000 plus bonus. Qualifications

• Proven data engineering experience, ideally defence/industrial sector.
• Strong Python and SQL skills; exposure to C++, C# or MATLAB is a bonus.
• Hands-on with orchestration/pipeline tools (Airflow, Azure, SSIS) and streaming trch (Spark, Kafka).
• Familiarity with relational/analytical DBs (PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle, Snowflake).

Responsibilities

• Build scalable batch and streaming data pipelines from diverse sources.
• Design and shape data platforms including lakes, warehouses, lakehouses, time-series storage.
• Create Power BI reports for self-service analysis and senior insights.
• Set data models, quality, lineage and security standards for a regulated environment.
• Champion DataOps with automated deployment, monitoring, and containerised delivery across hybrid/on-prem environments.
