Job summary

Kpler in the United Kingdom is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join our new Marine Insurance initiative. You will lead end-to-end data pipelines and cloud infrastructure, ingesting, processing, and serving large-scale data to our global customers.

As a technical leader, you will set data architecture directions, mentor engineers, and ensure the platform scales as datasets and product offerings expand. Strong Python, AWS, Docker, and SQL skills are required, with Agile collaboration and English

Qualifications

5+ years designing, operating, and owning production-grade data pipelines and infrastructure.
Strong Python skills with Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, Airflow, and PostgreSQL.
Experience with event streaming (Kafka/Flink), Terraform, CI/CD, and observability.
Ability to lead architectural discussions, mentor engineers, and use AI coding tools with good judgment.
Experience working in Agile environments with fluent written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

Design and own end-to-end data pipelines and infrastructure.
Deploy containerized AWS services using Python, Docker, Kubernetes, Airflow, and Terraform.
Ensure data integrity and event streaming with Kafka/Flink.
Set technical direction, lead reviews, and establish logging/monitoring frameworks.
Partner cross-functionally and mentor peers to elevate team craft.
Evaluate new data tools to enhance platform capabilities.
