Job summary

Royal London, the UK's largest mutual life, pensions and investment company, is hiring a Senior Data Engineer to join the Group Data & AI Office. This role supports the development and curation of foundational data products across Royal London.

You will design, build and optimise data pipelines using Databricks, PySpark and Python in a hybrid setup (50% from home, 50% in office), collaborating with stakeholders to ensure scalable, governed data solutions and mentoring colleagues where

• Strong experience with Databricks, PySpark and Python in production data pipelines.
• Ability to design scalable, governed data products.
• Experience collaborating with stakeholders and mentoring colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and optimise data pipelines and data products.
• Develop data engineering solutions using Databricks, PySpark and Python.
• Create notebooks, frameworks and reusable engineering components.
• Contributing to data governance, standards and best practice.
• Identify opportunities to improve performance and delivery.
• Own technical workstreams and drive them through to completion.
• Collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders across Royal London.
