Job summary

Royal London is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join the Group Data & AI Office. The role focuses on hands-on data engineering, designing and building scalable data pipelines and data products using Databricks, PySpark and Python.

You will collaborate with engineering teams, contribute to governance and standards, and mentor colleagues while delivering high-quality data solutions across the organisation.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on technical expertise with modern cloud data platforms.
• Experience with Databricks, PySpark and Python in production.
• Ability to build enterprise-scale data pipelines and data products.
• Familiarity with data governance, standards and security practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and optimise data pipelines and data products.
• Develop data engineering solutions using Databricks, PySpark and Python.
• Create notebooks, frameworks and reusable engineering components.
• Contribute to data governance, technical standards and best practices.
• Identify opportunities to improve performance and delivery.
• Own technical workstreams and drive them to completion.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and mentor colleagues.
