Job summary

Data Idols in London is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to shape the data foundations that empower Data Science teams to build and deploy advanced analytics products.

You will own end-to-end pipelines, orchestrate complex workflows with Airflow and Databricks, and collaborate with engineering, product, and data science teams at scale.

Qualifications

• Minimum senior data engineering experience in a commercial setting.
• Experience designing and building scalable data pipelines.
• Proficient with Airflow for orchestrating workflows.
• Experience with Databricks and cloud data platforms.
• Collaborates with Data Science or analytics teams.
• Ability to own complex technical problems and drive delivery.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop the data foundations that enable Data Science teams to build, test and deliver data products.
• Build and maintain scalable data pipelines and orchestration workflows across the full engineering lifecycle.
• Collaborate with Data Scientists and other engineering and product teams to deliver robust data solutions.
• Influence architectural decisions and ensure production-ready, reliable systems.

They are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join a growing data function and help build the platforms and solutions behind high-impact Data Science and analytics products.

Senior Data Engineer

Location: London|Hybrid

Salary: £75K - £85K

As a Senior Data Engineer, you'll play a key role in designing and developing the data foundations that enable Data Science teams to build, test and deliver sophisticated data products.

You'll work across the full engineering lifecycle, building scalable pipelines, developing complex orchestration workflows and creating reliable, production-ready solutions using technologies including Databricks and Airflow.

You'll have plenty of ownership and the opportunity to influence how solutions are designed and delivered, while working closely with Data Scientists and other engineering and product teams.

Skills and Experience

• Strong commercial Data Engineering experience
• Experience designing and building scalable data pipelines
• Strong experience with Airflow
• Experience working with Databricks
• Experience working closely with Data Science or advanced analytics teams
• Ability to take ownership of complex technical problems and drive solutions through to delivery
