Job summary

Solirius Reply in London seeks a Senior Data Engineer to design, develop and maintain data pipelines enabling analytics and ML projects. You will work with data scientists, analysts and stakeholders to ensure data quality and reliability.

You will collaborate in an Agile environment, engage with client teams, and contribute to a modern data stack across cloud platforms. Strong Python, SQL, and ETL skills are required.

Qualifications

• Experience in operating as part of data engineering teams and individually.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure (Azure or AWS; GCP beneficial).
• Strong SQL and relational databases (PostgreSQL/MS SQL/Azure SQL).
• Framework experience with Flask, Tornado or Django; Docker.
• ETL pipelines experience with Luigi, Airflow or Argo.
• Big data tech such as Spark, Hadoop, Kafka.
• Data acquisition and development of datasets; data quality.
• Preparing data for predictive modelling; hands-on Python coding.
• Experience with reporting tools: Tableau, Power BI, Qlik.
• Knowledge of GDPR and Government Service Standard is a plus.
• Working in an Agile environment; security clearance desirable.

Responsibilities

• Develop Data Engineering solutions for client projects.
• Design and build data models and schemas to support business needs.
• Develop and maintain data ingestion and processing systems using SQL/NoSQL/ETL tools.
• Implement data storage solutions across relational and non-relational databases.
• Collaborate with clients and cross-functional teams to address data issues.
• Stay updated on modern data stack and cloud computing trends.
• Define processes for operational excellence and data quality.
• Define and manage SLAs for data sets and processes.
• Lead design, build and launch of new data models and pipelines.
