Job summary

Liberty IT, the tech arm of Liberty Mutual Insurance in the UK, is seeking a data engineer to join a team that blends software and data engineering to tackle large-scale pricing and modelling challenges. You will build robust Python data pipelines and cloud-native data products, collaborating with data scientists, engineers and business partners to deliver secure, scalable data solutions.

You will gain hands-on experience with dbt, Databricks, Airflow and modern cloud architectures while growing

Qualifications

• Proficient in Python for production-grade software.
• Experience building data pipelines and analytical platforms in cloud environments.
• Strong understanding of data engineering fundamentals: modelling, quality, governance, optimisation.
• Experience with AWS and cloud-native data technologies.
• Experience delivering solutions using Snowflake or similar platforms.
• Experience building reliable, scalable data processing solutions.
• Experience collaborating with data scientists, analysts and product stakeholders.
• 3+ years' software development in a commercial environment with a STEM degree or 5+ years with certifications.

Responsibilities

• Transform and deliver high-quality, scalable datasets powering pricing/models.
• Develop Python-based data ingestion, transformation and delivery solutions.
• Design, build and maintain data pipelines and data products for pricing and analytics.
• Work with AWS and Snowflake to deliver secure, scalable data solutions.
• Collaborate with data scientists, engineers, product partners and stakeholders to deliver value.
• Ensure data quality, reliability and compliance through automation and testing.
• Contribute to architecture and design of modern data platforms and services.
• Maintain CI/CD processes and raise engineering standards.
