Job summary

Planet DDS in the United Kingdom is seeking a Data Engineer IV to design and lead the build-out of a scalable, AI-ready data and analytics platform across our product and operations ecosystem.

You will architect real-time data pipelines, define data models, and mentor engineers while collaborating with Product, Engineering, and Data Science teams to ensure high-quality data delivery and governance.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in data engineering.
• Expert in SQL and at least one programming language (Python/Scala/Java).
• Experience building data pipelines with Spark, Airflow, dbt.
• Cloud data platforms experience (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Strong data modeling and large-scale DB performance know-how.
• Experience with real-time data and streaming (Kafka/Kinesis).
• Experience integrating AI/ML workflows into data platforms.
• Leadership in technical projects and cross-team influence.
• HIPAA familiarity is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Architect and build AI-ready data pipelines and ELT workflows.
• Design a modern data platform for AI workloads and vector/feature stores.
• Collaborate with product and data science to ensure data quality and delivery.
• Define best practices for versioning, testing, and documentation.
• Mentor junior data engineers and promote technical excellence.
• Evaluate new data technologies to modernize the platform.
• Lead cross-functional data initiatives from scoping to delivery.
• Ensure data security, governance, and regulatory compliance.
