We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join our growing data and analytics community within DWP Digital.
We're transforming how data is used across government, harnessing modern cloud technologies, enterprise reporting platforms and data engineering practices to deliver trusted insight at scale.
DWP is the UK's largest government department. We help people into work and make payments worth over £195bn each year, supporting millions of people through some of the most important moments in their lives.
Delivering services at this scale generates vast amounts of data, and the ability to turn that data into meaningful insight is fundamental to improving services, driving efficiency and supporting better outcomes for citizens.
The scale of what we do is extraordinary, and the opportunity to influence how data supports decision-making across government is unique. We'd love you to join us.
You’ll join the Synergy Shared Services Hub at the forefront of a once-in-a-generation transformation of Civil Service shared services.
You'll provide technical leadership in the design and delivery of secure, scalable and robust reporting data solutions.
You'll work with stakeholders across government, leading the development of data pipelines, integrations, datasets and reporting products that enable trusted management information, business intelligence and analytics services.
Working with Oracle Fusion Data Intelligence (FDI/AIDP), OTBI and other cloud-based technologies, you'll help design and build the data solutions that support critical decision-making across the Synergy Shared Services Hub and multiple government departments.
You'll also play a key role in developing engineering standards, mentoring colleagues and shaping the future direction of data engineering capability within the organisation.
You’ll join us in one of our brilliant digital hubs in Birmingham, Blackpool, Leeds, Manchester, Newcastle Upon Tyne, Sheffield and Tŷ Taf (Pontypridd), whichever is most convenient for you.
We work a hybrid model - you'll spend some time working at home and some time collaborating face to face in a hub.
We offer competitive pay of up to £75,664.
You’ll get a brilliant civil service pension with employer contributions worth 28.97% of your substantive salary.
A generous leave package starting at 26 days rising to 31 days over time.
You can also take up to 3 extra days off a month on flexi-time. You'll also get all the usual public holidays.
